I know I'm going to get a lot a grief from this, but here goes: You seem to have only one thing to say musically. Your works are all quite nice, but I find myself wondering what might be if you were to apply your talent to something a little diffferent. Perhaps an orchestral work, a fast piece, something rhythmic, a waltz, ect. I've listened to well over 20 pieces from you and they are decidedly one note. I guess my question would be: why do you keep submitting such similar works? Use your excellent talents to do something better!

MarkySpark responds:

Hi, Thanks for your opinion and my sister says the same sometimes. I have composed a lot of 8bit , 16bit and full orchestra songs but my first love is piano alone or with gentle strings. Too many are making songs with EWQL and too many instruments used. Here are a couple you might of missed that are not piano. If the music sounds all the same to you then classical isn't for you, try techno or hip-hop :-)

Fantastic, perfectly evokes the style you're trying to emulate. Great work hoss!

SoundChris responds:

Thanks a lot for listening and reviewing! As a morricone fan i just had to try out that style. I just had a great time while making the track. Creating the whistle-sound was so extremely exhausting ... think i needed hundreds of takes :D

So thanks for the kind review. I am glad You liked it!

I'll keep it simple: really well done! Evocative and haunting. Great job.

JosephAS1 responds:

Thank you :)

Great job, though I tend to think of music like this as a hybrid between classical and electronic, I enjoyed it a lot. The piece loops beautifully, and I had no trouble conjuring up an image of a helpless victim trying to evade some serial-killer psycho. Can't ask for much more than that!

Bosa responds:

Well, I would declare you a madman, but that is beside the point. I too had the same thought as you whilst designing this piece.

This piece certainly lives up to the description you provided with your submission. Great epic vibe and a powerful ostinato driving it until the end. I have only two minor complaints. First it's a bit too celtic/LOTR for me, especially at 1:15 and on. Second, the ostinato is great but a bit more development and/or variation would have made it even better.

Despite those (very) minor beefs I have, great job as always!

MaestroRage responds:

Very fine points, thank you for taking the time to write it out. Truth be told I had never written a song of this scale before. Every time I try to push further and further and while there was much room for improvement on this piece I finally had to submit lol. I could work on it forever and there is simply never enough time it seems...

once again, thanks for your review, i'm glad you liked it :)

Excellent work! Great orchestral colors you've got going on there. Sounds a bit like Wagner, Berg, and Webern. While this style is not my favorite, I can still appreciate the artistry that created it. I also appreciate any submission that goes outside the usual types of works posted here.

descara responds:

Thanks a lot! Berg and Webern especially are indeed influences. Another is Lutoslawski, with how he works in layers with regards to tone material.

Great job! It is a bit redundant at times (not a major problem for an action cue), but sounds great. The Woodwinds are a bit thin compared to the strings and brass.

Composition wise, the middle section is fantastic and reminds me of Hermann's Vertigo.

All in all great.

ps: I see the zero-bombers got you. They should die in a fire. I'll give you 5's every chance I can. This piece should be heard!

BloodyLoud responds:

Thanks! I HATE those zero-bombs. Probably some douche bag kid who wants his own music to stay on top even though it's garbage.

Thanks for the listen and the review!

Driving, good action music

Excellent work! I especially like the section at 1:30 with the ostinato exposed for a shor time before the solo violin comes in. The only reason I didn't give you a ten is that I feel it drags a bit from time to time, despite a very good ostinato. Other than that great work!

As an aside, I think your music deserves to be heard. I especially liked Streets of Tomorrow.

IglicaV responds:

Thank You for your comment : ) I hope that It will be heard someday, and I'm very glad that you think the same. And thank you for your opinion on my ostinatos!

Very good

Despite a very simple melody and harmonoic structure, you created a really pretty little piece. Just goes to show that sometimes simple is better.

Mea-Anima responds:

Thank you for your kind words jpops !

Cheers,

Stunningly good!

What a fantastic trio, while they don't "go" together all that well, and transitions between segments would be nice, each was great on its' own. They sounded a bit like a cross between Ravel and Bernard Hermann, a great combo indeed! Excellent work.

sinequanon responds:

ravel and hermann! interesting, not a bad pedigree. unfortunately i'm not sure i could write transitions if i wanted to, the relevant files were probably lost when my last computer crashed. thanks jaypoppers!
